Bank Interest Rates Surge to Market Highs on August 13
On August 13, 2026, bank interest rates in Vietnam saw a significant increase, reaching the highest levels

On October 4, 2026, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) made a notable adjustment to its online savings interest rates. The interest rates for 15-month and 18-month terms were both reduced by 0.2 percentage points compared to previous rates.
According to the latest online savings rate chart from BIDV, the interest rates for terms of 1 to 5 months are currently set at 4.75% per annum. For terms ranging from 6 to 11 months, the applicable interest rate is 6.6% per annum. The rates for 12-month and 13-month terms are both at 6.8% per annum.
Notably, the recent adjustments have lowered the interest rates for the 15-month and 18-month terms from 6.8% per annum to 6.6% per annum. Meanwhile, the rates for 24-month and 36-month terms remain unchanged at 6.8% per annum.
As a result of these changes, the highest interest rate currently offered is 6.8% per annum, applicable to the 12-month, 13-month, 24-month, and 36-month terms.
