According to HoREA's quick report, on the progress of solving problems in real estate projects in Ho Chi Minh City, 5/156 projects have been solved.

Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association (HoREA) has just released a quick report of the results of solving 156 real estate projects’ problems in Ho Chi Minh City that this unit had previously proposed.

According to the report, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has many times met directly and listened to a number of businesses presenting their difficulties and problems with real estate projects. There have been some initial results so far.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City has reviewed and allowed 5 corporations and businesses that are the investors of 5 real estate projects to raise capital 50% of the number of housing products would formed in the future, equivalent to 5,432 apartments to support these businesses to overcome difficulties, pending the conclusion of the competent state agency.

During the waiting time for the conclusion of a competent state agency to legal review those projects, the investor has performed the obligation to pay land use rights and land rent before. In addition, there is an apartment project in District 4 that has also been reviewed and solved by competent departments and agencies.

The association suggested the City People's Committee and the competent state agencies soon have a definitive conclusion on these 6 projects, so that the real estate market can receive more than 5,000 apartments which help increase the housing supply, create cash flow for businesses and increase liquidity for the market, increasing state budget revenue.

At the same time, the Association suggested that departments and branches urgently review and submit to the City People's Committee for consideration and settlement of similar projects that investors also propose to raise capital and sell formed houses in the future. Therefore, step by step open up the real estate market and ensure fairness for businesses.

"Hopefully with the drastic participation of the competent agencies of the city, especially through the effective coordination of the Government's Working Group, the Prime Minister's Working Group and the City People's Committee, most of these 156 projects will be solved this year," said Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association.

Previously, HoREA had sent a document to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Construction a list of 156 real estate projects that have problems that need to be solved proposed by 121 investors. The Association found that legal issues account for 70% of the problems and difficulties of real estate businesses.

In mid-March, the People's Committee Office of Ho Chi Minh City issued a document conveying the direction of Vice President of the City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong on a proposal of solving difficulties for these 156 real estate projects.
