CANTHO – Agri Index has introduced a project to set up an exchange for rice and rice by-products made through a circular economy model.

The project is intended to connect those entities focusing on circularity in rice production in Dong Thap and other Mekong Delta provinces.

When in place, the exchange would allow participating enterprises to get access to information, receive support in quality control, optimize warehousing and transportation costs, and obtain financial solutions.

Having been operational for six months on a trial basis, the exchange will need a permit from the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

When it is put into official operation in March 2023, around 300 enterprises would participate in the exchange with a trading volume offering of 50,000 tons per month.
