From January 25 to 27, VietBev coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of the three provinces to grant Tet gifts to disadvantaged students and teachers at 15 elementary schools, junior and senior high schools in these localities, hoping to join hands to bring a happy Lunar New Year holiday to the beneficiaries.

Also at the ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of the three provinces and VietBev handed over school equipment such as learning tools, raincoats, disinfectants, face masks and Tet Gift Packages (provided by the companion MM Mega Market Vietnam) to representatives of these 15 schools to help students have a good and safe school year. This program has been carried out thanks to the support and contribution of VietBev, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, C-Asean and Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hai Son, representative of Vietnam Beverage, said, “We are moved to be here prior to the Lunar New Year of the Tiger to present Tet gifts, albeit small, with our love toward students and teachers at the schools that were hit hard by natural disasters over the past years. We hope that such school equipment will create more favorable and safer conditions for the students. In the future, we will look for opportunities to continue our support for these areas, especially in terms of disaster prevention and school support.”

“VietBev is a member unit of Thailand’s TCC Group with long-term investment in Vietnam, we always affirm our sustainable development target and contribution to the community. Since children are the future of the country, through our corporate social responsibility activities, we pay close attention to children and would like to join hands to create favorable conditions for their living and learning. All the recipient schools this time are those severely affected by natural disasters since 2020,” added Mr. Son.

This donation is part of the program to support schools in these three central provinces of the four sponsors mentioned above. Earlier, in February 2021, Vietnam Beverage Company Limited representing the four sponsors handed over VND1.5 billion to the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front in an attempt to repair damaged schools and buy new school equipment for schools in Quang Ngai, Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provinces.

There are seven recipient schools in Ha Tinh Province, including 5 schools in Huong Son district, one in Cam Xuyen district and another in Thach Ha district. In Quang Ngai Province, the local Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and VietBev presented gifts to three schools and in Quang Binh Province, Tet gifts and school equipment were granted to five schools.

Given the combining targets of sustainable business growth and corporate social responsibility, VietBev has implemented and participated in activities concerning education and the future generation. Specifically, for two consecutive years, 2019-2020, the company was the bronze and silver sponsors for the “Swing for the Kids” golf tournaments under the scholarship fund of Dau Tu newspaper to support outstanding, poor students.

Previously, in June 2021, in response to the appeal of the Vietnamese Government, TCC Group- the parent group of ThaiBev and VietBev, in coordination with the Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation, has contributed US$1 million (approximately VND23 billion) to the purchase of Covid-19 vaccine.

ThaiBev, who, via VietBev, started investing in the Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (SABECO) since 2017, is also a very active unit in the field of sustainable development, including many supports related education and natural disasters in Thailand. Therefore, in the coming time, the company will also focus on activities to support sustainable development in Vietnam, particularly the two areas of education and support to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in heavily affected localities.
