Phu My Hung urban area, Ho Chi Minh city, where a large number of foreigners live and work, is implementing social distancing according to the strictest standards.

According to data from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam currently has more than 90,000 foreigners, most concentrated in big cities. Particularly, the number of foreigners living in Phu My Hung urban area, District 7, Ho Chi Minh city is about 15,000 people, accounting for 1/6 of the number of foreigners living in Vietnam. This urban area also attracts many overseas Vietnamese experts, investors and intellectuals to live and work in the country.

Since midnight on July 9, 2021, this urban area has implemented social distancing according to the general policy of Ho Chi Minh city, but with the importance of an urban area attracting foreign investors, people are concerned about the social distancing here.

During the 4th Covid-19 outbreak, Phu My Hung urban area did not have as many blockade points as the previous waves. Part of that is because foreigners have strictly followed the 5k principle of Vietnam. At the same time, the pandemic prevention and control work has also been organized more actively and drastically in places where many foreigners live.
