Hanoi authority closes bars, karaoke parlors, and discotheques from February 1
Hanoi authority has decided to close all bars, karaoke parlors, and discotheques from February 1 in response
Many bars, karaoke parlors and discotheques asked to shut down in the southern city have ignored the rules and may face punishment
Despite Ho Chi Minh City’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control ordering bars, karaoke parlors and discotheques to halt operations starting April 30, many have clearly ignored the rules, according to a VCT News report on May 2, with many venues on Pham Van Dong Street (Go Vap District) disregarding the ruling.
At 9 p.m. at King Beer 85 bar (on 333 Pham Van Dong) dozens of staff were waiting for customers.
Inside the bar was crowded with customers amid lively music.
Despite the development of Covid-19, many staff failed to wear face masks.
Similarly, at the One More club (at 264 Pham Van Dong), hundreds of people sat closely together without face masks.
Apart from not implementing anti-Covid-19 measures, this club played music too loud, torturing passers-by.
Seating was full outside the Flowers Beer club.
There were about 30 beer clubs on Pham Van Dong Street still operating in spite of the city’s order.
Since last Thursday, HCMC has recorded only one coronavirus case associated with a man who returned from Japan and tested positive after completing a two-week centralized quarantine in Da Nang City.
Nationwide, Vietnam has recorded 24 new cases since April 29 located in Hanoi, HCMC, northern Ha Nam, Hung Yen, and Vinh Phuc provinces, following over a month with no community transmissions.
Vietnam's total coronavirus tally stands at 2,962, with 35 deaths.
