Vietnam Women's Football Team Prepares for Crucial Match Against Thailand

On September 18, the Vietnam women's football team departed from Shizuoka to Osaka in preparation for their final match in Group E of the women's football tournament at ASIAD 2026, set to take place on September 21 at Nagai Stadium, Osaka. The team left at 10 AM and after a four-hour bus journey, they arrived in Osaka and settled into their accommodations at the Agora Regency Osaka Sakai hotel.

Later that afternoon, the team held their first training session in Osaka at J-Green Sakai Center. At 5:30 PM, all players participated in practice to implement their preparations for the important upcoming match against Thailand. The Vietnam team is currently ranked third in Group E with a goal difference of -9 after two matches. This final game against Thailand, who are also vying for third place, is crucial for Vietnam's chances of advancing to the quarter-finals.

The match is scheduled for 5:30 PM on September 21 at Nagai Stadium. A victory would enhance Vietnam’s opportunity to secure one of the two spots available for the best-performing third-placed teams. Head coach Hoang Van Phuc emphasized the importance of recovery following their intense match against Japan, stating, "The players must recover well and maintain their strength to face Thailand. They need to focus on nutrition and calorie intake to ensure they are in optimal condition for the final group match." The match will be broadcast on VTV6, TV360, and FPT Play.
