Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini is gearing up for a difficult match against Real Madrid, acknowledging the challenges posed by one of the top teams in La Liga. In a recent press conference, Pellegrini stated, "We expect a very tough match, as always against the top three teams, especially since Madrid has strengthened significantly this summer."

After a shaky start to the season, Pellegrini is hopeful that his team can regain their rhythm. He reflected on their recent performance, noting, "We came off two matches without conceding, playing quite well, but then we suffered a heavy defeat against Levante, losing 5-2. In football, you have 24 hours to enjoy a victory or to deal with disappointment because another match is always around the corner, and the previous one doesn’t count anymore."

Regarding player availability, Pellegrini confirmed that Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso will not participate as he is almost ready but not fit for the match against Madrid. Moroccan player Ez Abde is also out due to illness, but both are expected to return next week when Betis begins their Champions League campaign.

Pellegrini also addressed the situation of midfielder Iker Losada, who will not be included in the squad due to technical decisions. The coach expressed understanding of Losada’s choice to stay with the team despite the competitive environment, stating, "He knows it’s tough with players like Isco, Lo Celso, Dani Ceballos, and Fornals ahead of him, but if he has decided to stay, he will work just as hard as his teammates."

While Pellegrini expressed some frustration about the lack of depth in the defensive midfield position, he acknowledged that the squad is finalized as of Tuesday. He remarked, "It is what it is," indicating that he does not expect any changes in the immediate future. Pellegrini’s comments come after a public disagreement with the club's sporting director, Manu Fajardo, regarding the team's roster issues, but he chose not to elaborate on the disagreement, emphasizing that everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Looking ahead, Pellegrini highlighted Dani Ceballos as a valuable addition to the team, praising his versatility and quality, although he will not be available for the upcoming match against Real Madrid.
