The first VTV Cup for women's football among Vietnam's ethnic minorities is scheduled to be held from August 23 to 29, 2026, at the Nghia Lo Stadium in Lao Cai. This exciting tournament will feature 12 women's teams from nine provinces across the country, showcasing the talents and cultural diversity of Vietnam's ethnic communities.

Fans can catch the live broadcasts of the matches on VTV5, VTV5 Tay Nguyen, VTV5 Tay Nam Bo, VTV6, and the VTVGo platform. The tournament aims to create a professional and vibrant sporting atmosphere, allowing women from ethnic minorities to compete, interact, and promote their unique cultural values.

The participating teams include four from Lao Cai and eight from other provinces, such as Phu Tho, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Cao Bang, and Nghe An. This diverse representation is expected to foster a rich cultural exchange and provide opportunities for grassroots female footballers to shine on a national stage.

Over the years, women's football has gained traction in various ethnic minority regions, with many women stepping out of traditional roles to become players and community role models.
