PSG Successfully Signs Lucas Digne from Aston Villa
Paris Saint-Germain has successfully secured the signing of Lucas Digne from Aston Villa for approximately

Aston Villa is actively seeking a replacement for left-back Lucas Digne, who is on the verge of completing an £8 million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. Digne's move follows the activation of a release clause in his contract, and he is expected to finalize terms after returning from holiday.
In their search for a successor, Villa has identified Atletico Madrid's Matteo Ruggeri as a strong candidate. The 24-year-old defender, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm), fits the club's criteria for a more physical left-back. Ruggeri has made a significant impact at Atletico, featuring in 47 matches last season and contributing seven assists.
Villa has reportedly held discussions regarding Ruggeri's potential signing as they narrow down their options from a select shortlist. The club aims to bolster their defensive lineup and provide competition for Ian Maatsen, who has faced challenges in securing game time since his arrival in July 2024. Despite these challenges, Villa intends to retain Maatsen as a long-term option to eventually succeed Digne.
Previously, Villa had shown interest in AC Milan defender Pervis Estupinan, who has experience working with manager Unai Emery at Villarreal. While personal terms were not a concern, negotiations with Milan have stalled over the transfer fee, especially following the club's recent appointment of Ruben Amorim as their new head coach.
