Poland has advanced to the final of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) after a commanding 3-0 victory over Slovenia in the semifinals, held on Saturday in Ningbo, China. The Polish team showcased their dominance with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-17, ensuring their place in the championship match on Sunday.
This latest win guarantees Poland a medal for the seventh consecutive edition of the VNL, a remarkable achievement that underscores their consistent performance in the tournament since 2019. The team is looking to defend their title, having triumphed in 2025 against Italy in the final.
Under the guidance of Serbian head coach Nikola Grbić, Poland has solidified its reputation as a leading force in international volleyball. Since Grbić took over in 2022, Poland has not only won the 2023 European Championship but also claimed a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, marking the country’s first Olympic volleyball medal in 48 years.
In the upcoming final, Poland will face either Japan or the United States, with hopes of securing their third Nations League title, adding to their previous victories in 2023 and 2025. The anticipation builds as Poland aims to continue their impressive run in the VNL.
