The Vietnam U-23 football team has received a favorable draw for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games (ASIAD), which will take place in Japan. In the draw held on July 23, 2026, Vietnam was placed in Group C alongside Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and Kuwait, successfully avoiding tougher opponents such as Thailand and Iran.

The men's football tournament at ASIAD 2026 features 15 teams divided into four groups, with one group containing only three teams. Vietnam, being in the first seed group along with host nations Japan, South Korea, and China, has managed to steer clear of the top contenders right from the group stage.
