Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team May Face Mongolia in Friendly Match

The Vietnam men's volleyball team is likely to engage in a friendly match with the Mongolia men's volleyball team. This matchup is anticipated as Mongolia prepares to visit Vietnam for training sessions.

According to reports from Lao Dong, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the Mongolia Volleyball Federation have been coordinating closely regarding this training program. If all goes as planned, the Mongolian team will conduct their training at the National Sports Training Center, where the Vietnam men's team is also currently training. This proximity sets the stage for a friendly match that will allow both teams to enhance their skills.

In July, the Vietnam men's volleyball team is scheduled to participate in the SEA V.League 2026, with matches taking place in the Philippines and Indonesia. Therefore, the upcoming friendly match with Mongolia will serve as a valuable opportunity for the team to improve their performance ahead of these competitions.

Currently, the team is under the guidance of expert coach Federico Rampazzo, who is training 19 players, including notable athletes such as Dinh Van Duy, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, and Tran Minh Duc. After the conclusion of the SEA Games 33 in Thailand, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation decided to revamp the team's training approach by hiring Rampazzo to prepare the players for the upcoming ASIAD 20 in September.
