Five auto testing centers in Hanoi resume operations today

HCMC – Five more have been reopened in Hanoi today, March 13, sending the total number of active facilities in the capital city to 13, according to Vietnam Register.

These five centers are 29-03V in Dong Da District, 29-07D in Dong Anh District, 29-11D in Chuong My District, 29-17D in Long Bien District, and 29-18D in Son Tay District.

Vietnam Register, under the Ministry of Transport, worked closely with the Department of Traffic Police under the Ministry of Public Security to resume operations at these centers, which had been closed due to investigations of bribery cases.

Vietnam Register is rolling out plans to recruit technicians for the auto testing facilities that are facing a shortage of human resources.

Yesterday, the 29-06V auto testing center in the Hanoi outlying district of Thanh Tri held a test to grant certificates of auto inspection and testing, with the participation of 27 attendants. The test results are expected to be released today.

In HCMC, Vietnam Register will hold an exam for some 60 examinees to select qualified technicians.

According to a Vietnam Register representative, 10 tests for auto testing technicians are scheduled to take place in HCMC and Hanoi this year, usually from February to June 2023 and from October to December.

The representative said that despite an urgent need for auto testing technicians, the quality of the tests and that of auto-testing human resources must not be lowered.

In recent months, multiple violations discovered at auto testing centers nationwide have led to a severe shortage of 500 technicians, especially in Hanoi and HCMC.
