The general secretary also appears to have congratulated Putin on the 12th June Russian National Day, whilst stressing the importance of a strategic alliance between both nations, something that will likely strengthen as Vietnam places its importance on Russia as a key ally.

Like many other world leaders, Putin has praised the efforts of Vietnam during times of pandemic, ensuring that cases remain as low as possible whilst the death rate remains at zero, with Vietnam’s most severe patient recently recovering and being confirmed COVID-19 free.

Both Putin and Nguyen Phu Trong agreed that continued mutual cooperation will guarantee the success of both Vietnam and Russia throughout testing times for both nations, whilst the general secretary continued in wishing Putin success regarding the upcoming constitutional changes & stressed that both nations should work together to ensure international cooperation and law is upheld.
