India daily weather forecast latest February 27 Isolated rain thunderstorms expected over some places
It is expected that isolated rain and thunderstorms will sweep over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Punjab.
Fresh rains and snowfall in upper reaches of Kashmir were seen since early Friday following the weather department’s forecast of a wet spell including rain and snow, beginning Tuesday till the end of February, Hindustan Times reported.
Since morning, several parts of Kashmir observed rainfall, while the upper reaches recorded snowfall. Famous tourist and ski resort Gulmarg also received fresh snowfall. Today the second edition of Kehlo India winter games is beginning at the ski resort.

"Under the influence of two Western Disturbances, scattered and widespread rain and snow is most likely in J&K during February 22 to the end of the month. This system is to affect north Kashmir, Western Ladakh in the next two days, central, south Kashmir, Pirpanchal and Jammu from 25 Feb onwards," director, IMD, Sonum Lotus, had said. Western Disturbances – winds blowing from the Mediterranean mostly bring rains or snow in the valley.
He also said that due to a change in weather conditions there could be heavy rains at some places on February 25 and 26, causing a possible disruption in flights on February 26th.

According to Weather.com, a western disturbance is present over north Pakistan and the adjoining area on Friday. The system is expected to impact Western Himalayan Region on Friday and Saturday. It will bring fairly-widespread to widespread snow or rain with thunderstorms over Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Moreover, parts of Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness scattered to fairly-widespread snow or rain with thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday. The neighbouring state, Uttarakhand will witness scattered snow or rains with thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.

In addition, some isolated places of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad may also experience heavy rain or snow on Friday. As per IMD, hailstorms are possible over these aforementioned places on February 26-27.
Owing to these rough weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for today. The advisory instructs residents to 'be prepared' for rough weather.
Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is expected to produce isolated to scattered snow or rain and thunderstorms over north-northeast India in this period. Scattered snow or rains with thunderstorms are likely over Sikkim on Saturday and Sunday.
In south India, isolated rain with lightning is expected over Kerala due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Comorin area on Friday. Dry weather is expected over other areas in this forecast period.
Maximum temperatures are expected to be more than normal over north India and northwest India on Friday and Saturday. Moreover, the minimum temperatures are predicted to be warmer than normal over north India, northwest India and northeast India from Friday and Sunday.
Fairly widespread rain or snow and thunderstorms are likely over Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Scattered rain or snow and thunderstorms are possible over Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Isolated rain or snow and thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh. Isolated rain and thunderstorms are likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Punjab.
