Launch of the National Information System
Hanoi (VNA) - The National Information System, - the Prime Minister's Government Information, Direction and Operation Center, was created on Wednesday August 19 in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and members of government, representatives of embassies and international organizations.
This event marked a new step in the process of building e-government to move towards digital government, forming a digital economy and a digital society .
Nguyen Xuan Phuc made it clear that building and developing a digital government is an inevitable trend to improve government openness and transparency, helping to fend off corruption and waste, promote economic growth, improve the business environment, to strengthen competitiveness and labor productivity. "This is the right way to develop a strong and prosperous Vietnam," he said.
He also asserted that the year 2020 was the year of national digital transformation, the year of the start of the process towards a digital Vietnam. The government office should be one of the leading agencies in implementing the national information portal such as the National Information System.
According to the minister, head of the government office Mai Tien Dung, in recent years, the Party and the state have always paid attention to the building of e-government, administrative reform and the application of technologies of the information in the activities of public bodies and also at the service of residents and businesses.
The National Information System and the National Public Services Portal, used for the management and administration of government, are built, operated and developed by the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group.
So far, around 30 ministries, agencies, towns and businesses have connected and integrated information and data on the National Information System. There are 101 of the 200 periodic reports and socio-economic statistical reports of ministries, agencies, localities and enterprises which are linked to this system. At present, the National Information System is building seven news sections and 25 online connections.
“It is a source of information and a database that is provided regularly, in a transparent, precise, confidential manner, as a reliable base allowing the government office, ministries, sectors and localities to advise the government and the Prime Minister in their leadership work through the figures. The information and data enables traceability and mutual control, also creating a measurement channel to help the leaders of ministries, sectors and localities to monitor the activities of their agencies, and also helping members of government to assess implementation. tasks of agencies across the system, ”Minister Mai Tien Dung said.
On this occasion, the 1000th Public Service on the National Public Services Portal was launched.
As of August 18 the National Portal of utilities has 227000 registered accounts, 14.3 million synchronized records and more than 281000 documents processed online. -VNAsource
