Hanoi (VNA) - As voice search takes hold on social media, note taking can also be done orally. It was on this basis that the Origin-STT application was created, initiated and developed by a group of young technicians from the VAIS company.
It is a "Made in Vietnam" application that allows its users to automatically transcribe all kinds of sound recordings.
Thanks to the support of artificial intelligence, Origin-STT can therefore transcribe, in text form, all kinds of spoken voice recordings, but in Vietnamese only. This application is able to recognize the different accents of the three regions of the country. Once installed on your computer or tablet, Origin-STT offers transcriptions that are 94% accurate, with proper names being automatically set apart, in upper case.
“There is of course this very fine speech recognition, which is already a good performance. But the great thing about Origin-STT is that it’s an application that is able to process multiple layered voices. In the case of a heated debate, for example, it is very useful, anyway! ”Says Ha Anh Tuan, director of Vinalink, a company operating in the field of information technology.
Origin-STT was launched in 2018. The first voice recognition application in the Vietnamese language, it has been used since 2019 during question-and-answer sessions of the National Assembly.

Hoang Minh Thanh, director of the company VAIS, sees the future in a big way, for its application… "We are trying to diversify the users of Origin-STT by offering different levels to meet different needs. Right now, we're targeting journalists, employees, but also entrepreneurs, ”he says.
