The event, hosted by both the Saigon Beer – Alcohol Beverage Corporation (SABECO) and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, is being held with the aim of raising funds for Vietnamese workers struggling to overcome the negative impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In line with the competition’s rules, runners will have to complete a route that stretches for 1875 km. Known as the Heritage Relay, the event will see participants go from Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province to Ho Chi Minh City between October 17 and October 25 in addition to a 145 km run, known as the Future Relay, from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho on October 26.

Throughout the race, team members will take turns completing runs of two km, five km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km.

Upon arrival in each major city along the route, participants will have the chance to join in a number of interesting events.
