Third Covid-19 patient dies in Vietnam

The patient, numbered 499, is a resident in Da Nang City, now the biggest Covid-19 outbreak of Vietnam.

She was confirmed dead Saturday morning at the Da Nang Oncology Hospital for “malignant hematologic carcinoma of final stage, severe pneumonia and Covid-19.”

A patient of with leukemia, hypertension, diabetes, she is a regular patient of Da Nang Hospital.

Between July 18 and 23, she stayed at the hospital’s Hematology Department for treatment.

She started running fever on Monday and was transferred to the Da Nang Oncology Hospital the next day, before taking the Covid-19 test.

This has made the third death of a Covid-19 patient in Vietnam in two days and since the pandemic started.

On Friday, two men aged 70 and 61 were reported dead. Both had been receiving treatment for other chronic diseases in Da Nang.

18 other Covid-19 patients are also in critical conditions in the Da Nang outbreak, according to the Health Ministry. All of them are elderly people having chronic diseases before testing positive for the new coronavirus.
