HCMC – Hanoi City is conducting Covid-19 tests on over 26,000 medical workers in the city to prevent the potential spread of Covid-19, said Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh.
This is the first large-scale Covid-19 testing for medical frontline workers who are at high risk of infection due to close contact with patients and Covid-19 suspected cases in the city, Hanh said at a recent conference to deploy a Covid-19 testing plan for medical workers and patients at public hospitals.
The Covid-19 testing is set to be carried out in some phases until May 30, the local media reported.
The samples taken from the medical workers will be transported to labs qualified to test for Covid-19 at eight public hospitals and the Hanoi Center for Disease Control.
Besides, Hanh said that Hanoi City had completed the first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination, while the second phase would start soon, with over 53,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and end before May 15.
