Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is nominated for state president
Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will be relieved of his duty for the 2016-2021 term from today, April 01. Phuc is nominated for state president in the next five-year term.
Tomorrow, the parliament will vote on the proposal in ballot, local media reported.
Nguyen Xuan Phuc was born 20 July 1954, he is a Vietnamese politician currently serving as the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and is ranked 3rd in the country’s 12th Politburo. He is also a full member of the National Assembly, serving at its 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th terms.

He was elected to the post by the National Assembly of Vietnam, nominated on 7 April 2016 by his predecessor, Nguyen Tan Dung, who retired from office. Nguyen Xuan Phuc became a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam on 12 November 1983.
Phuc studied at the Hanoi National Economic University in economic management between 1973 and 1978, after which he studied administrative management at the Vietnam National Administrative Academy. From 1978 to 1979 he was employed by Quảng Nam-Da Nang Economic Board.

From 1980 to 1993, Phuc worked initially as an employee, before rising to deputy head of Quảng Nam – Đa Nẵng’s People’s Committee. Phuc then served in various roles including that of provincial president, director of government offices, before becoming deputy prime minister (2011–2016), according to wikipedia.
