Vietnamese Embassy presents face masks to Washington DC
Minister Counselor Hoang Thi Thanh Nga presents a haul of 3,500 medical face masks to Washington DC representatives

Upon speaking during the handover ceremony, Minister Counselor Hoang Thi Thanh Nga noted her great appreciation for Washington DC‘s efforts to gradually control the spread of the disease whilst maintaining appropriate activities.

She also expressed her gratitude for Washington DC’s support of various diplomatic missions, including the Vietnamese Embassy in the US, over the years.

The Minister Counselor stated that despite the COVID-19 situation remaining complicated, the Vietnamese Embassy believes that local politicians in Washington DC will soon be able to overcome the challenges and get the lives of residents back to normal.

Nga also added that officials and staff working at the Vietnamese Embassy in the US have consistently supported and followed the city’s guidelines with regard to disease prevention measures.

The Minister Counselor went on to express her desire to strengthen ties between the two countries towards celebrating the 25th anniversary of the normalization of US-Vietnam diplomatic ties.

Moreover, in her address of thanks to the Vietnamese Embassy, Kimberly Bassett, Secretary of the District of Columbia, stated that Washington DC will put the gifts to good use, adding that the supply of face masks will be used by the city’s public-school system as they prepare to reopen ahead of the fall semester.

Bassett also pledged to facilitate the operation of the Vietnamese Embassy and promote its role as a bridge connecting both nations’ governments and citizens.
