Vietnam’s southeastern region promotes tourism
Nine travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh city and 20 tourist service providers in southeastern provinces signed agreements to co-organize tourist itineraries from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria Vung Tau provinces. They will offer high quality travel programs at attractive prices to promote domestic tourism.
Speaking at the event, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan said the Southeast is the most dynamic economic region of the country, with many advantages for tourism development. He suggested that the Southeast provinces firstly strengthen connectivity to call for private and foreign investment in infrastructure for tourism development.
Regarding whether the tourism industry can be opened, Mr. Nhan said that it is possible to consider the plan to gradually reopen tourism in a controlled manner. He added, “The epidemic will be long lasting and we cannot not wait until it subsides all over the world to open the door as many countries will be facing economic difficulties. We need to promote inbound and outbound tourism, but select countries that are safe enough, especially those near us to open the door step by step. ”
