Hanoi has factors to attract investors: Prime Minister
Addressing a conference on Saturday to promote investment into Hanoi, the Prime Minister praised the theme of the conference, saying this is an important message about attracting investment.
He emphasized that Hanoi should not only be a political, economic and cultural center of Vietnam, but also have to strive to be a political, economic, and cultural center of Southeast Asia. By 2045, when Vietnam becomes a developed country, Hanoi must set its sights on being a political, economic and cultural center of East Asia.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told delegates, “First, effort should be made to create a competitive economy, affirm economic strength with strong scale and structure, effective enterprises and business environment, state management capacity, effectiveness of institutions, quality of human capital and the development of the financial system. Second, it’s necessary to foster the identity of a livable city. It must be a culture of hand-on experience, a natural environment with good air quality, an advanced education system, an excellent social welfare care system, and a modern urban transport infrastructure.”
The Prime Minister affirmed that Hanoi not only attracts investment for itself but is also important to create synergy effect of the whole region. The success of Hanoi is also the success of all localities in the Capital region as well as the whole country.
At the conference, Hanoi granted investment certificates to 229 projects with a total capital of 17.6 billion USD.
