Throughout the Czech Republic, Poland, and Ukraine, members of the Overseas Vietnamese (OV) community have pledged their support for flood victims in the nation’s central region.

Recent efforts include the Vietnamese association in the Czech Republic handing over more than US$68,840 to seven central localities.

This has led to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Thai Xuan Dung stating that this assistance demonstrates the sentiments and responsibility of the OV community for their compatriots back at home.

Hoang Dinh Thang, president of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, noted that Vietnamese nations based in Europe, particularly in the Czech Republic, have enthusiastically participated in fundraising campaigns aimed at supporting flood victims in the central region.

Furthermore, the Vietnamese community in Poland raised more than VND1.3 billion during a campaign aimed at helping individuals affected by recent flooding overcome the consequences of the devastation.

A delegation of the Vietnamese association in Poland led by Nguyen Viet Trieu, the group’s vice president, made a visit to and presented aid in support of the repair of schools and roads across the four central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue.

Moreover, the Embassy of Vietnam in Ukraine united with Vietnamese associations in the Eastern European country to launch a fundraising campaign to support flood-hit residents, with approximately US$17,430 being raised in 11 days.
