Health Ministry sets up task forces to support flood-hit localities
The Ministry of Health has decided to establish groups to assist seven provinces in disease prevention in the central region after storms and floods.
The seven provinces comprise Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh.
People in many localities in the central region are facing the severe flooding
The teams are responsible for helping health staff and people in the central provinces in sterilising the environment, gathering the dead body of poultry and cleaning wells. They will also give a disease assessment and implement precautionary measures.
The missions will also provide nutritional advice for people, particularly children, the elderly and pregnant women.
Under the instruction of Managing Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, the teams have to be present in the provinces within five days.
The provinces are asked to supply medical materials to the teams to carry out their task. In cases where there are shortages, the localities need to inform the Ministry of Health to ensure sufficient supplies.
