S.Korean expert tests positive for Covid-19 after leaving HCMC

HCMC - Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally rose to 1172 today, October 27 after the Ministry of Health confirmed three new imported cases.


Two of them are Indian experts, aged 41 and 34 who arrived at the HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport from flight 6E9471 on October 6. They are being treated at Sa Dec General Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap.


Eighteen other passengers on this flight had earlier tested positive for Covid-19. Fourteen of them are undergoing treatment in Dong Thap Province, one in Dong Nai Province and three in HCMC.


The last Covid-19 patient reported today is a 22-year-old Vietnamese man residing in Dong Da District, Hanoi. He returned to Vietnam from France on flight VN5010 on October 21 and was immediately transported to Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for quarantine after arriving at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport.


The patient is being treated at the Long Dien District Medical Center.


Up to now, 1062 Covid-19 patients in the country have fully recovered, including one person discharged from the hospital today.


More than 14000 people who came back from pandemic-hit countries or had close contact with Covid-19 patients are being quarantined at hospitals, quarantine centers or at home.
