PM Phuc praises contributions of soldiers across several fronts

The event took place in Hanoi on June 23 with Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and First Vice Chairwoman of the Central Council for Emulation and Reward, Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich participating. They were joined by leaders and former leaders of the Party, the State, the Army, and the capital, alongside outstanding collectives and individuals in the Emulation Movement for Victory during the 2015 to 2020 period.

Extending his warmest congratulations to 300 collectives and individuals who have made significant achievements to the movement over the previous five years, PM Phuc described them as “fresh flowers” in the flower garden of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army.

Most notably, 121 collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Minister of Defence, whilst 172 collectives and 172 individuals were honoured with Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Defence.

The Government leader used his speech to highlight the congress as a practical contribution of the entire Party, all citizens, and the army in order to show determination to successfully achieve the dual goal of boosting socio-economic development whilst effectively preventing the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

This is done as a way of celebrating major holidays throughout the year and welcoming the 10th Patriotic Emulation Congress, Party Congresses at all levels in the build-up to the 11th Party Congress of the Military Party Committee, and the 13th National Party Congress.

Upon presenting reports at the Congress, many officers and soldiers serve to represent shining examples of individuals that can overcome great difficulties to successfully fulfill their assigned tasks.

Examples of such achievements can be seen through the actions of soldiers on the second level of a field hospital who participated in peacekeeping operations in South Sudan and in the Central African Republic, proving to be exemplary role models in protect the health and lives of people in the context of the increasingly complicated nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the face of complicated developments globally, officers and soldiers of the entire army have always displayed steadfast and stable political firmness, putting their confidence in in the ultimately victory of the revolutionary cause while being absolutely loyal to the Party, to the Fatherland, and to the people.
