Hanoi experiences blazing hot weather

The northern and central region of Vietnam, including Hanoi, is facing scorching hot weather with the highest temperature hitting 42 degrees Celsius.

Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy General Director of the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, said that the average temperature in northern and central localities is between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius these days. Some areas have even been forecasted to see the temperature of up to 41-42 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi’s temperature in the next two days would be between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius.

Lam added that the temperature would fall from June 25.

Fires, including forest fires, have been also warned during the hot days.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported that from now to mid-July, the northern and central regions of Vietnam would witness 3-4 rains with strong winds.

The country’s average temperature in this summer has been predicted to be 0.5-1.5 degrees Celsius higher than that of previous years. Localities in the north and those from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue provinces have seen the highest temperature rise of 1-2 degrees against previous years.
