On the day of their discharge from the hospital, little Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi were in great shape, with a radiant and luminous smile. They were able to sit and then stand on their own two legs with the support of their parents. Mr. Hoang Anh, the father of the twins said with emotion that since the day of their separation, his daughters were much happier and even more so on this day when they will be able to return home.
" The whole family has been looking forward to the time when we can come home together. Thank you to the doctors and nurses for giving the two children a body, a new life, a new future" , shared Mr. Hoang Anh.
Referring to the health of sisters Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi, Dr Truong Quang Dinh, director of the city's pediatric hospital, said that 84 days after the operation, their organs were functioning well. Babies can urinate normally and pass stool. Although Dieu Nhi suffered from a congenital stenosis, she is now breathing normally. Children also have a standard weight but their height is still limited. Thus, in the near future, pediatricians will come up with a suitable nutrition plan for two babies in order to achieve a normal physique.

Almost 3 months after their separation, the little patients will continue to have physiotherapy and long-term muscle training since they were just lying down or sitting up before. Doctors hope that by the end of 2020 Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi will be able to walk almost normally. After the efforts of the entire team of surgeons, to We were very happy to witness the release of Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi from the hospital. "Although both children are going to need a lot of rehabilitation, we hope they can enjoy normal lives like everyone else," said Dr Truong Quang Dinh.
The cost of the treatment and surgery to separate the Siamese twins has been estimated at nearly VND 1.2 billion, with health insurance covering half. In addition, many donors have helped the little Siamese girls, raising an amount of VND 2.3 billion. After deducting the cost of the treatment, the pediatric hospital handed over VND 1.5 billion to the parents of the two girls for their next therapy as well as for the payment of other interventions planned for the children.
On the occasion of their discharge from the hospital, the Ho Chi Minh City health service awarded the 93 doctors and surgeons who participated in this historic separation. In particular, the Vietnam Book of Records Organization awarded the hospital a certificate that reads: "Complicated major surgery case involving the largest number of doctors in Vietnam for a case of separation of two Siamese sisters joined by the pelvic abdomen."
It is recalled that the Siamese twins Dieu Nhi and Truc Nhi, born on July 62019 at the Hung Vuong hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, were indeed joined by the pelvic abdomen with full limbs, two genitals and an anus . Both babies had two bladders located on either side of the common abdomen, with a double vaginal uterus.
