Aviation Department: Only Vietnam Airlines is allowed to fly internationally in the first phase

It is expected that, as early as early August, international flights will be restarted, according to the Aviation Administration.

Vietnam Airlines is designated to fly internationally in August

On July 18, the Vietnam Aviation Administration sent the Ministry of Transport a plan to restore the international flight route. Thereby, it is proposed that only Vietnam Airlines can implement international flights in the first phase with a frequency of 1 flight / week.

After the disease is controlled and the parties increase the frequency and number of routes, they will continue to consider appointing other airlines.

According to the Aviation Administration, these flights were conducted primarily to return Vietnamese citizens to the country built by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The routes in the first phase are proposed by the Aviation Administration, including: Guangzhou – Da Nang, Tokyo – Hanoi, Seoul – Hanoi, Taipei – Ho Chi Minh City, Vientiane – Quang Ninh and Phnom Penh – Can Poem.

Passengers accepted on these flights must have a valid visa, and all must comply with quarantine regulations.

Flight crews, aviation personnel, immigration, customs and medical quarantine personnel in charge of flights must wear protective gear and not segregate after flights.

For the time of reopening international routes, after reaching an agreement, the Ministry of Transport will work with partners to discuss specific conditions. It is expected that early August can make the first flight.

Thus, it is estimated that there will be about 2,500-3,000 passengers entering Vietnam through the flights every week.

Vietnam Airlines operates more than 500 domestic flights per day

According to information from the Ministry of Transport, from now until the end of August, continuing to be the summer peak, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate more than 12,000 flights for the domestic market, an average of 400-500 flights / day, up 10% compared to the first half of July.

To take the initiative in optimizing the operation of domestic flights during the summer rush season, the national airline has also implemented many specific solutions since the beginning of July.

For example, Vietnam Airlines has increased the operation of wide-body aircraft Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 787-10 (the largest aircraft in Vietnam today) on domestic routes between Hanoi – TP. Ho Chi Minh City and the routes from these two cities to many selected destinations in the summer peak of 2020 such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc

Wide-body aircraft with 1.5 to 2 times more seats than narrow-body aircraft Airbus A321 will help ensure passenger capacity is transported, while not increasing the pressure on the number of take-off flights, Landings at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports.

At the same time, Vietnam Airlines reorganized the flight frequency so as not to focus too many flights taking off and landing within the same time frame. Priority should be given to arranging flights in those times when space is still available.

The airline arranged the turnaround time to meet the regulations of the Aviation Administration of Vietnam (HKVN) at least 60 minutes for wide-body aircraft (Airbus A350 / Boeing 787) and 50 minutes for narrow-body aircraft (Airbus A321 / ATR72).

In addition, Vietnam Airlines also promotes communication, guiding passengers to use forms of self-check-in procedures such as online check-in, check-in at the airport automatic counters, check-in by phone.

With these solutions, the punctuality index of Vietnam Airlines in the early days of July was only 70% – 80%, but now has increased again to nearly 90%.
