A recent report of the Ministry of Construction (synthesizing data from 56/63 localities) said that in the third quarter of 2020, the country had 295 commercial housing projects with 125,449 licensed apartments; 1,272 projects with 243,265 apartments are under construction; 118 completed projects with 25,911 apartments. The number of licensed housing projects decreased slightly (down by 9.3%) compared to quarter II / 2020.

The report of the Ministry of Construction also said that in the third quarter of 2020, apartment prices increased by about 0.24% compared to quarter II / 2020. In particular, the segment of high-end apartments decreased by 0.07%, mid-end apartments prices increased by about 0.44%, affordable apartments increased by about 1.02%.

For individual houses, prices increased by about 0.03% q-o-q. Projects with products in the affordable segment are usually located in developing areas such as Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Ha Dong,…. with absorption rate maintained at a very high level (about 70%).

On the contrary, the consumption of mid- and high-end products is very slow, especially in the high-end segment. The reason is due to the impact of COVID-19 epidemic, many projects cannot sell or sell insignificant quantity.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of apartments in the third quarter increased by about 0.35% compared to before. In which, the high-end apartment segment increased by 0.16%, the mid-end apartment price increased by 0.72%, and the affordable apartment price increased by 0.85%. For individual houses, the price increases by about 0.26% compared to the second quarter of 2020.
