HÀ NỘI — Viettel Telecom hopes to transform into a digital telecom enterprise with the leading customer service and experience in Viet Nam.
It also aims to pioneer in 5G and internet of things (IoT) technology as well as complete its digital product and service ecosystem, bringing revenue from the services to equal other networks in the world and the region.
The information was released at its 20th anniversary of establishment in Ha Noi on Thursday.
Officially participating in the telecom market on October 15, 2000, with only VNĐ2.3 billion (US$99,224) charter capital and more than 100 employees, Viettel has become a huge player in the telecom and IT sector, helping people even in remote and mountainous areas use mobile phones for communication, studying and entertainment.
The company aims to maintain its growth rate of fixed broadband internet service at 15-20 per cent a year. This would be an important pre-condition to realise its desire to become a pioneer in building a digital society.
Viettel Telecom’s revenue and profit have reached VNĐ900 trillion and VNĐ200 trillion respectively in the past 20 years. It has been a key company that helps Viettel Group become the largest ICT group and most valuable brand in Viet Nam.
Cao Anh Sơn, general director of Viettel Telecom, said the rapid changes of technologies, platform application, business model, competitive environment and new administration method have brought both opportunities and challenges for the company in the new journey.
For its contributions, Viettel Telecom was awarded the second-class Labour Medal on the occasion. — VNS
